Voler delivered a machine to sort drumsticks (the musical kind) for a company that wanted to make top-of-the-line drumsticks. The machine measures the straightness, weight, balance, and pitch of each drumstick, then sorts them into bins where they are matched. Voler was responsible for the design, assembly, testing, and installation of the machine.

Custom PCI Card Uses FPGA to Increase Functionality |

A company that makes equipment for the television broadcast industry needed to meet the new RoHS requirements for lead and other toxic materials on their existing circuit. At the same time they wanted to take advantage of new technology to add more capability. Voler was selected to develop a card that provides 16 serial ports and plugs into the PCI bus of a PC.

Video and Data on a Web Site |

Voler created a web site that displays live video and data for a company to show off its product on-line. The company sells street lamps that are powered by wind and solar for locations that cannot connect to the power grid. The web site shows the lamp and the area it lights, while also displaying the parameters that determine its performance:

IC Tester Enhanced with High Density Card |

Every one of the billions of ICs that are produced each year has to be tested with automated test equipment. A manufacturer of IC testers was asked by their customer to increase the functionality of a product, but space was at a premium. Voler was selected to do this project because of our expertise in analog circuits and FPGA design.

Voler Record Keeping Proves Valuable |

In 2001 we built a control system for a machine that applies thin coatings. It is used to manufacture large LCD displays, a rapidly growing field for televisions, PCs, and hand-held devices.
In 2006 the equipment was being sold to another company, but it had been in storage, and it did not work. Voler was called to help out.
